The project
A one-bed garden dwelling installed at the end of a south-facing Dublin 6 garden. The brief was for a habitable space that could serve as a home office five days a week and a guest room when needed.
The site
The site is 6.2 m wide at the rear boundary — narrower than typical. The Studio at 4.8 m width fit the constraint with clearance for a 700 mm maintenance path on each side.
The outcome
Permitted under SI 600/2001 Class 1. No planning application. Installed in 9 weeks from deposit. The owners report the space is used daily.
